Testimonials
Howard is amazing! He’s honest and explains everything in detail. He told me what I needed and did not try to upsell unnecessary items. Howard and his team installed a new HVAC unit for my downstairs. I’m extremely happy with the job they did and the unit he chose for my home. Howard followed up after the job to make sure everything is going well. I will be using HPH Services for all my HVAC needs. If you are looking for an honest, reliable, professional HVAC company I highly recommend HPH Services.
Can’t recommend HPH, enough! Howard is very professional, efficient and kind. Truly a lifesaver, my mom is in her 80s and her a/c breaking in the middle of a Texas summer is serious. He wasn’t able to get the part we needed, so he came up with a temporary solution/part while we wait. He truly cares, and for that we are so grateful. Thank you Howard!
I am delighted to share my positive experience with HPS Services. Howard’s punctuality, thorough assessment, and detailed quote impressed me. He took time to explain the best options, and their quote stood out as the most competitive. Overall, a fantastic service!
Honest. Great Quality. Values. Very Punctual and Extremely Reliable and Knowledgeable. Will refer to everyone with HVAC needs.
Howard came Tuesday to diagnose the problem. It took him several hours to figure it out. Wednesday it took him two parts suppliers and significant traveling around the Metroplex to find the gas valve. He was back at my house by noon and had the heater running in about 1 1/2 hours. HPH Services is my go-to for HVAC.
We purchased a Trane condenser through HPH Services in December 2019. Within the first year we were having issues with the unit. Howard the owner of HPH promptly came out and fixed it each time. We have continued to have issues ever since. This spring, we had another issue with it. When Howard arrived, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the condenser. That evening Howard compiled a repair history for the condenser and sent it to Trane the next morning. Before the end of the day Trane agreed to give us a new unit. Within a day or two of the unit’s arrival, Howard delivered and installed it. We have been using HPH since 2009 and we are very pleased with them. We would recommend them to anyone who needs heating and AC help. Thanks Howard for going to bat for us.
Howard has always been a straight shooter with us, giving us honest opinions and fair pricing.
Howard has helped me several times over the years. Again just recently to replace a fan motor. Honest, reliable, trustworthy, etc. My system is not easily accessible but Howard manages it. I highly recommend Howard and his company. Great wealth of HVAC knowledge.
I can’t believe I haven’t written a review about HPH Services before. Howard Gurn, the owner, has been our go-to guy for HVAC for over 15 years. When he’s been booked and couldn’t come out immediately, he has walked me through troubleshooting or quick fixes over the phone until he could come out. We called him on the first day of freezing temperatures in the winter of 2024-25. Out furnace was blowing cold air. He came out and cleaned everything and got the heat working, but showed me some problem issues with the A/C unit. He also said that, although the cleaning of things like the temperature sensor got things running again he thought something else was the issue. He said the sensor just wasn’t that dirty.
The next day, the furnace started blowing cold air again. Howard said it was starting to look like the problem was the controller board for the furnace. After discussing options, we decided that it would be better to replace the 11 year old unit with a new one because even if we could get the heat going again, the A/C was probably going to be an issue sometime next summer. Howard recommended two Lennox models, explained the differences and I selected the slightly higher end model after asking about the price difference.
He showed up the first thing the next day with one of his crews. The crew placed protective, heavy drop cloths over our carpet and tile floors along the path they’d use to remove the old unit. They started by 8AM and were done testing the new unit by 3:45PM. Their work was amazing, as usual. Everything was very professionally installed. They included replacement of a cheap, fiberboard plenum, installed when the house was built. The HVAC unit was hung from the rafters, but the unit was not hanging by its top surfaces. Howard installed a cradle beneath the unit that supported it from below, reducing stress. That cradle was what hung from the rafters. The 1″ thick A/C filter was replaced with a 4″ thick one, like we had in our last two homes. He also included a checkup next spring/summer just to make sure everything was going well. He said the damper controller was operating fine and did not quote a replacement for it.
When he was walking me through the finished job, he mentioned he had thrown in a new Honeywell damper controller, without charging us for it, because the existing unit had been “in a 140℉ attic for 11 summers and he didn’t want to risk any problems.
Then he did something that was so Howard: He said I’d overpaid by about $600. He had quoted the higher-end unit. When I had asked about the price difference, I thought he had quoted the lower-priced unit, so I added the price difference to his original quote. He could have just kept the money and I’d have never known the difference. But that’s not Howard and his honesty is one of the reasons we keep calling him when we need HVAC service.
Need A/C service? Make sure you give Howard a call at HPH Services.
Howard is incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, honest, genuine and a truly caring person. Howard listened and heard what my specific needs and wants were when I needed to replace my old builder-grade HVAC from 1989. Howard spent a lot of time offering up several options for me as far as the set up & duct work / vent situation. I originally wanted to move my main unit into the attic until he taught me how my attic structure would not support the weight. I investigated and learned a very important lesson. I had two other HVAC companies that were more than willing to sell and install a new unit in the attic! Howard said he would sell me a new unit but would not install it in my attic. Howard spent just as much time giving me options for several different systems. Mind you, this was in December of 2020 when HVAC units were hard to come by (supply issues). Howard was up front about historical price increases as my current unit was not ‘dead’ yet. Howard cares about his customer first before any sales which in turn drives loyalty, referrals and repeat business.
